We are a charitable trust dedicated to improving the lives of PWAs in East Africa by implementing appropriate

programmes on health, education, survival, participation and development through:

Noting the immensity of the challenge ahead, AFEA engaged in a strategic planning process (supported by the Ford Foundation) between January and March 2009, and completed the plan in April 2009. From this plan, AFEA’s vision is to be the lead institution in promoting the rights of PWA and realization of their full potential. Our strategic objectives are five-fold:

1. To develop the capacity of AFEA to deliver quality and effective services to persons with albinism by 2013
2. To create greater public awareness on issues related to albinism by 2013 
3. To advocate with the government and other stakeholders for increased access to quality education and training for persons with albinism at all levels by 2013
4. To promote increased access to quality health care services for persons with albinism by 2013
